Bell-ringing is a fascinating task. It is not as easy as it looks – take it from someone who tried – but without question, it has a certain appeal.

More than enough to bring bellringers from across the world to a little bell tower in Bowral Uniting Church, as part of an annual festival.
Enough even that one such bell ringer, John Cater from Derbyshire in England, has travelled the world in pursuit of the art. He’s now been at the end of bells in more than 6300 towers across the world.
Bowral Uniting’s bells will ring several times this long weekend during the Australian and New Zealand Association of Bellringers (ANZAB) festival.
Grab a bite to eat and some homemade goodies while you hear the peal emanate from the tower this weekend during the Bowral Uniting Church Winter Market Fair on Saturday, June 10 from 8am to 2pm.
