The man affectionately known as Elmo chalked up 100 first grade games for the Black Diamond AFL organisation against local rivals Muswellbrook Cats.

He becomes just the 24th player to reach that milestone in the history of the “red and whites”.

To cap off the occasion, the Roosters knocked over the Cats by 76 points, 18.13.121 to 7.3.45, and Davis, himself, kicked two goals in the unfamiliar position of forward pocket.

“It’s taken seven years to get there [the century],” he said.

“However, [today] is a proud moment [for me].

“When I moved to Singleton, I didn’t know anyone.

“So, I found myself at the Roosters to meet people.

“Now, they’re like a second family to me.”

During that time, Davis has tasted a fair bit of success, winning three flags with the club.

“We took out the 2010, 2012 and 2016 premierships,” he told the Argus.

“But, 2010 has probably been the pick of them.

“I also captured the Roosters’ Best and Fairest award that season.

“It wasn’t a bad year,” he added with a laugh.

Despite achieving his latest feat, Davis has no plans to hang up the boots soon.

“I love it here,” he said.

“The camaraderie among the players, both men and women, is brilliant – they’re like brothers [and sisters].

“Anyone of them would give you the shirt off their back.

“That’s a terrific feeling.”
