The newly established event has proved popular among local families, encouraging friendship and support between mums, dads, grandparents and parents-to-be in Singleton. And now the group is using its growing success to help those in need.
This month’s event is calling on Singleton locals to donate teddy bears for the Singleton Hospital’s emergency ward.
Event ambassador, Kirsty Boag says the donated teddy bears will help to comfort sick children who find themselves in the emergency department.
“Every donation will go in the draw to win some gorgeous prizes donated by local singleton businesses,” Kirsty added.
The social picnic will be held at Rose Point Park on Sunday, July 23.
“This will be our first ever weekend event so all of our working mums and dads will be able to come along,” Kirsty said.
Following a Babes & Picnics facebook post regarding the charity event, 20 teddy bears have already been donated. Kirsty is hoping to maintain the event’s momentum and donate as many teddy bears to the hospital as possible.
