From 9am to 3pm, there will be over 300 vintage and classic car, motorbikes and trucks to look at and explore, over 60 market stalls, food and wine, foot-tapping, hand-clapping entertainment, and loads for the kids to do all for a simple gold coin donation.
The days kicks off with a Welcome to Country followed by an action packed lineup with a highlight being the vintage car display which gets bigger and bigger each year. Dripping with nostalgia, restored machinery of yesteryear will also be on display thanks to the hardworking members from the Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery.
If the displays don’t spark your interest, live music from the talented Broke Boys band and guests, bush poetry yarns and a test of strength and laughs in the Tug-o-War competition – amateur and novice teams – at 12.30pm and Rocker cover car racing at 1pm (main stage) will keep the happy fair goers entertained on the day.
For the kids there will be plenty of rides, laser tag, face painting and jumping castles. Families can also watch wood be carved into a work of art during a chainsaw sculpting demonstration or see a local blacksmith creates magic with his mobile forge.
Australian ladies champion whipcracker Brooke Wicks will be performing at - 9.30am and, 11am plus there will be whip plaiting demonstrations and kids coaching clinic - all day.
You can also jump on a bus for a tour to the Bulga Open Cut mine at 10am, 11.30am and 1.30pm.
When it’s time to grab a bite to eat, the Broke Village Fair boasts an array of flavourful foods, from traditional fair food to home-made sandwiches, wood fired pizza, kebabs, Greek or Mexican food.
And afterwards, you can wash lunch down with a delicious local wine from the Broke Fordwich wine or relax with a coffee. For a complete program of the Broke Village Fair, visit the website at www.brokevillagefair.com.au. Entry to the event is by gold coin donation.
