Racing at the famous Sepang circuit, Van Eerde got his international career off to a flying start.
The determined young lad had to work his way clear of a persistent pack before slipping away to win by over two and a half seconds, finishing ahead of a number of reputable Malaysians competitors.
The second race saw the Singleton rider suffer a crash while trying to navigate the rain-affected track, though he still managed to score himself fifth place.
The Townsville-born rider marks one of the first Australian representatives to race in this RC Cup series, which is already well established in Europe and the Americas.
Van Eerde and his team are currently in Malaysia gearing up for the next round of the series, which will take place on Friday, September 15.
