Detectives from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command are investigating an assault and a motor vehicle accident that both occurred in Singleton on Monday night.

At this stage Police Media say the incidents appear to be related.
At around 8.30pm a 27-year-old man was assaulted at his home by several unknown men.
Police were notified when the man presented at Singleton Hospital with leg and head injures.
He was later transferred to another hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
It is alleged three cars were involved in the accident.
Members of the public have informed The Argus the assault took place on William Street.
