The Summer Cup consists of six individual Stableford rounds with just the best three counting toward the player’s total.
Jake Smith was the A grade winner in a tight finish. Smith fired a round of 38 points to defeat Matt Dicks by a count back despite Dick’s subpar score of 68.
Smith’s back 9 of 23 was the telling point at the end of the day.
B grader Allan Piggot shot the day’s best round of 40 points to win from Michael Smith on 39.
There was another tight finish in C grade as well. This time it was Fred Erdman who shot 38 points to beat Hardy Blasko by the solitary point.
The weekly secret 9 was taken out by Jake Smith. The next three in finishing order were Andy Campbell, Graham Toohey, and Matt Dicks.
Round 2 of the Summer Cup tees off this Saturday and is always popular. Don’t miss out on getting yourself entered!
This Saturday will see the introduction of Golf Surprize. Any time a player tees off for a round of golf they can opt to buy a $5 Golf Surprize sticker.
Just scratch the sticker to reveal the score you have to beat and the dollar value of your prize from the Pro Shop. It’s as simple as that.
To get the competition started, all players this Saturday will be given a Golf Surprize sticker at no charge. Prizes range from $10 through to $250 and must be redeemed after the round.
