Despite the steamy conditions, and sweltering 40-plus heat, Creeks faced Muswellbrook RSL at Victoria Park, Muswellbrook.
While Valley took on with JPC at Singleton’s Howe Park.

Valley only lost two wickets in their victory over JPC.
Chasing 129 runs, opening batsman Jacob Carey led the way scoring 59 no.
He was still at the crease when they chased down the opposition’s total in the 18th over of the innings.
Next best was Isaac Barry (39) and Simon White (22).
JPC’s bowlers Josh Harvey (1/27) and Gregg Dann (1/16) took the only wickets that fell.
In the other match of the day, Creeks put on a dominate display against Muswellbrook - thanks to some big hitting by opener, Chad Solman.
During his time at the crease he notched up an impressive 75 runs, next best was Jacob Hill (33 no).
Best with the ball for on a tough day out for Muswellbrook was Hayden Fox (2/12).
Meanwhile, the final round of the Hunter Valley Competition has been brought forward to this Sunday, January 14.
And, Singleton will have the home ground advantage when they take on Cessnock in both grades.
Both games will start at 10am with the First XI at Howe Park and Second Division at Cook Park 3.
