While Singleton’s Sam Harrison and Kye Dann have fulfilled their representative duties for the Hunter Valley Junior Cricket Council (HVJCC) in the combined U14/15 side at the Walter Taylor Shield in Armidale, there are plenty more local juniors set to compete in carnivals all over the state. In his first appearance in the blue and gold, talented Keanu Botha will step it up a notch and compete at the U12 Age Championships at Lismore which began on Tuesday. While U13 reps Joseph Druery, Abbott Stacey and Aiden Eather kicked off their campaign in Ballina on Monday, along with Andrew Knox and Jackson Shade who are representing the Hunter in the 16’s age group at Taree. In coming weeks U15 reps, Tom Drurey and Beau Parnell, will play in their age carnival in Newcastle. This is after Parnell along with Isaac Barry take part in the prestigious Bradman Cup. They will be representing Central North and are hoping to secure state selection. Meanwhile, Alex Staffa is currently playing for the NSWPSSA at the national champs in Barooga which meant he could not tour with the HVJCC side.
