The Alliance is inviting 100 Singleton Shire residents to attend their community dinner to discuss viable options for a post-coal future.
The evening, set to be held in Singleton on March 17, will entail a free dinner and community discussion.
For Hunter Central Rivers Alliance, diversifying the region's economy would help avoid the Hunter’s vulnerability to the fluctuations of the global coal market.
In November last year ‘Seat at the Table’ hosted 100 Muswellbrook residents who gathered together to have their say. Guests included the likes of church leaders, Councillors, educators, farmers, miners, business folk, traditional owners, retirees and youth.
Through the Seat At The Table project, the Hunter Central Rivers Alliance and Lock The Gate are aiming to build a community-led vision for a post-coal Hunter region.
The event will be held at the Singleton Senior Citizens Centre from 6pm on Saturday March 17. Interested community members can find out more about the project at www.seatatthetable.org.au
