The day was sponsored by the Table of Knowledge. This fine group of members got together and thought what a great idea it would be to support the Club. And what a great day they helped to put on. Thanks boys for your great efforts.
The Club’s number One Kiwi Mike Wyatt gave the Aussies a toweling up when he was announced the Mug winner following his great score of 64. Mike’s scratch score 83 was also the best in C grade so he took out the scratch prize as well.
A grade was taken out by Scott Humby with a nett of 67. Scott’s victory was a narrow one by way of a count back from the fast improving Ethan Van Zyl. Ethan is just 13 years old and his scratch score of 73 gave him A grade’s scratch prize also.
B grade was won by TOK member Steve Corrigan. Steve fired a strong 69 to defeat Tony Fay who shot a 69. Tony took out the B grade scratch with an 80.
It was great to see Pat Fitzgerald pick up C grade’s winner’s prize. Pat’s nett of 68 beat home TOK founder Greig Delaney by one.
The Secret 9 event awarded the best putters on the day with golf balls. The best four players in finishing order were Greig Delaney (25c/b), Tony Rock (25), Murray Considine (26), and Jacob Stewart (27).
This Saturday’s tournament is an individual Stroke event and the first round of the 2018 President’s Cup. This competition always proves popular so enter early to avoid disappointment.
