Ms Brown says SPS has a great reputation and she is excited about getting to know the “respectful” students, their parents and the community. Developing closer relationships with other local schools is also a priority for the experienced educator. Before this appointment, Ms Brown was the deputy principal at Thornton Public School for two years but during her time there she spent nine months as the relieving principal. Her varied career has included teaching at Tighes Hill, Rutherford, Borrigal and North Lakes. Passionate about working with staff to look at new ways of engaging students, striking a balance between quality learning and utilising digital technology is important, she says. “We need students to be able to communicate across all platforms,” Ms Brown explains.
