The wild and windy weather scared many players away and it was only the diehards that ventured on to the course.
A nett score of 4 over par 73 was all that was required for Luke Price to take out A grade.
Luke’s was the narrowest of victories as he beat home Mick Williams by way of a count back.
The scoring improved as we headed into B grade. Col Curnow’s nett score of 67 was a great effort in the conditions and was awarded first place.
Runner up went to Allan Piggot with an even par round of 69.
The club’s fastest improving junior Owen Evans shot the day’s best round easily winning C grade. Owen shot a mighty 4 under par 65 to account for Trevor Lambley’s 67.
The weekly secret 9 event was also won by Owen with a nett 32. The next three winners were Henry Morrow, Col Fogarty, and Col Curnow.
The second round of the President’s Cup is teeing off this Saturday so if you’re sitting within 10 shots of the lead get yourself entered as you’ve still got a chance of victory.
