Both teams trained hard and put their skills to the test in the competition.
In an exceptional effort, the Opens finished 7th in Division 2 with 11 wins, 6 losses and a draw with Westlakes taking out the title.
Opens coach Sharon Cameron said she was very impressed with her side’s skill and amazing all court defense.
“We brought it home strong with 6 from 6 wins on Monday,” she said.
“It was a pleasure to watch and many people commented on it.”
Cameron said it was a great weekend.
Meanwhile the U17’s took out 10 wins but also lost 10 games, finishing 10th in Division 3 with Brunswick Byron overall winners.
U17’s coach Gail Solman was very proud of her teams achievements.
“The girls all played so well,” she explained.
“They worked together as a team.”
They had some good wins, close games and should be happy with their results, she says.
