Every June long weekend the SSAA Sporting Field shoot is held at the Singleton Clay Target Club. The event is held on the 50 target course attracting shooters from Quirindi, Tamworth, Terry Hills, Mudgee, Newcastle, Sydney and local clubs.

On Saturday June 9 the “Tom Turner Memorial Championship” was held in honour of Tom Turner who won the event in 2005 and sadly passed away a few days later.
As part of the 13th anniversary, his wife Gwen, son Tom Junior and grandson Jack, attended the day.
The rain held off for most of the event, adding to the great weekend.
On Saturday 110 shooters participated in the championship which commenced at 9.30am.
The winners for the Tom Turner Memorial Championship – 100 Targets were;
Overall Winner & AA Grade
- 1st – Andrew Garvie 93/100
- 2nd – Steve Atkins 92/100
- 3rd – Andrew Bell 91/100
A Grade
- 1st – Jack Turner 91/110
- 2nd – Jason Hancock 89/110
- 3rd – Jai Saville 90/110
B Grade
- 1st – Mick Quinlan 85/100
- 2nd – Andrew Nelson 82/100

On Sunday 121 shooters competed, starting the morning at 9am.

The next shoot, the Deauville Doubles and Double Rise Championships will be on Sunday July 8
The club welcomes new shooters. Practice is on every Wednesday from 10am to 2pm.
