A TWO-vehicle accident at Belford on Sunday morning resulted in a man being flown to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was tasked to the incident, on the Hunter Expressway, about 6.15am.
The accident occurred just south of the Expressway’s intersection with Bell Road.
Emergency services were also at the scene, and reported a 26-year-old male suffering multiple injuries.
The man was trapped inside one of the vehicles for approximately an hour – and, upon release, eventually flown to Newcastle in a stable condition.
A second patient was also treated, but reported to be walking around.
The accident caused delays for traffic using the Expressway.
Police investigations are continuing.
