Extended exhibition period for Draft Companion Animal Management Plan

Updated June 19 2018 - 2:34pm, first published 2:04pm

Council’s draft Companion Animal Management Plan will be exhibited for an extended period of 60 days. It will open for public comment in accordance with the requirements of the Companion Animals Act 1998. This is because the plan was developed by Council staff and no public consultation occurred. A companion animal is defined as a dog or cat – and all dogs such as working/Police dogs. The revision includes amendments to the management of stray cats.
