Student Representative Council (SRC) members from Singleton High School presented Mark Hughes with a donation after hosting a ‘Beanie Day’ on June 8.

Handing over a cheque for $4000, the students organised a barbeque and sold beanies in support of his foundation. The former professional rugby league player and Newcastle Knight established the Mark Hughes Foundation after he was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013.
Students wore their favourite footy jerseys to support the cause that has touched them all after they lost a teacher to the disease late last year.
SRC Coordinator Dana Cowmeadow says this particular issue has affected the entire school and she is proud of the students for pulling the fundraiser together.
