The Roosters kicked five goals to two in the first quarter and this ultimately won them the game.
Singleton coach Andrew Scott would have been a worried man in the second half as the Roosters again failed to go on with the job, as the Magpies kicked three majors to one in the third term.
Wyong Lakes’ inaccurate shooting cost them dearly in the last quarter, kicking 1.5 to Singleton’s one straight goal, enabling the Roosters to sneak away from Don Small Oval in Tacoma with a priceless four away points.
Sam Brasington, again, showed he is one of the League’s best players with an excellent performance.
He was well-supported by Ben Graham, Scott, Scott Moore and Jacob Welsh.
Luke Davis’ four goals were a standout for the Roosters.

In the GE Women’s Competition, the Singleton Roosters defensive prowess came to the fore as they restricted the high-flying Newcastle City Novas to just two goals in their fixture at Newcastle No.1 Sportsground on Saturday.
Unfortunately for the Roosterettes, the Novas kept them goal-less as they ran out 12-point winners, 2.6.18 to 0.6.6.
Amazingly, Singleton led by four points at three-quarter time before the Novas rallied in the final stanza, kicking the only two goals of the match to seal an important win.
The Roosterettes were best served by Emily Mitchell, Tahlia Thompson, Kyah McBride, Hayley Richards and Jade Moody.
