And, the Singleton Golf Club says thank you to Bill and Ken for their continued support.
Prior to hitting off, most players were thinking that any score around par would be enough to win the day. However, Wayne Chandler had other ideas.
Chandler’s scintillating nett score of 4 under par easily took the day’s top prize.
Even though he is in B grade, Chandler managed to fire the day’s best scratch score - beating every A grader that teed off.
Allan Holz kept up his good form for a win in A grade. His scratch score of 79 took out the scratch prize while his nett of 74 won the A grade nett runner up.
Josh Payne was A grade’s best with a nett of 73.
In B grade it was Adam Egas with a nett score of 69 who place second behind the invincible Wayne Chandler.
Taj Vesper continued on his quest to greatness with a mighty score of 67 and a win in C grade.
The C grade club champion Matt Maher shot 87 to take out the C grade scratch and his nett of 68 won the nett runner up.
The day’s best putters were given some golf balls for their efforts.
The speed of the greens and the high winds had an effect on the number of putts that players need to complete the course. 26 putts from Andy Campbell was the best. The next three place getters were Steve Moore, Craig Cooke, and Kerry Baxter, all on 27.
This Saturday’s tournament is the annual two person Ambrose Championships and with the course continuing to be presented in tip top order, should attract a large field.
