For 18 years A golf day put on by a small committee of members from the community is held each year to raise money to donate towards the town hospital. Stuart Leggart, one of the founders of the event and organisation explains that the each year they have raised and donated roughly between $30,000 and $80,000 to the hospital. “Over the 18 years we have donated well over half a million dollars to the hospital” explains Stuart. The money raised is used to purchase a specific resource that both the hospital and committee decide will be most beneficial to the hospital. The cheque for over $28,000 will provide funds for a “Panda Warmer with weighing scales”, for the Labour Ward of the Hospital.
