THE Singleton Roosters continued their recent good form in the Black Diamond AFL Cup with a convincing 131-point win, 21.17.143 to 1.6.12 over Lake Macquarie at Rose Point Park on Saturday.

The Roosters made a happy return to their home ground, kicking 11 goals to one in the first half in a performance that boosted their percentage to 103.55, which could be very important at the end of the season, especially with Singleton having the bye in the final round.
Veteran full forward Travis Bates wound back the clock, kicking seven majors in an impressive display.
Key forward Jackson Kolatchew booted four as he continued his good form in the second half of the year.
Josh Long, Alex Mitchell and Black Diamond Plate star Matthew Tull all chipped in with two goals apiece.
Singleton was best served by Oliver Moody, Mitchell, Tull, Daine Cowburn and Bates.

In the GE Women’s fixture played at Tulkaba Park in Teralba as part of the annual Women’s Round, Singleton kicked three goals in the last quarter to defeat Lake Macquarie by 26 points, 5.12.42 to 2.4.16.
The Roosterettes kicked poorly in the first three quarters, managing only 2.10 to leave them just seven points in front of the Dockers at the last break.
Jade Moody had a huge last quarter, landing two opportunist majors to seal a very important victory after some tough recent losses for Singleton.
Tori Cowburn was outstanding for the Roosterettes, well supported by Moody, ruck Brianna Howard, Rebekah Jones and Lynan Scott.
