Six horses had to be evacuated from a property after a grass fire broke out on the banks of the Hunter River behind the Rose Point Complex on Wednesday night.

Multiple fire crews were called to Waterworks Lane at Glenridding to extinguish the blaze at around 9pm and firefighters assisted in moving the horses.
At this point it is believed an unattended camp fire sparked the blaze which spread from the riverbank to a nearby paddock.
NSW Fire&Rescue Singleton 444 alongside with and Darlington, Bulga and Whittingham RFS crews were in attendance.
A total of two-and-a-half hectares was burnt out during the incident.
Firefighters would like to remind Singleton residents that permits are required when it comes to lighting fires and all fires should be extinguished prior to leaving.
