During Thursday night when there was little wind ( below 6km/h) six local Upper Hunter Air Quality monitors recorded PM10 levels that exceeded national standards.
Singleton, Singleton North West, Singleton South, Camberwell, Mt Thorley and Maison Dieu all recorded PM10 above 50ug/m3.
The current 24 hour rolling average for Mt Thorley is 91- rated as very poor air quality. The rolling 24 average for the Upper Hunter is 103 – rated poor.
This means sensitive groups in particular people with asthma, lung disease and cardiovascular (heart) disease: Cut back or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities.
