They were required to extinguish a yard fire in Glenridding this afternoon.
They were called to Victoria Street at about 3.15pm to find a small pile of rubbish on fire.
Firefighters immediately extinguished the blaze and would like to remind residents fire permits are needed before lighting a fire.
Meanwhile they attended a small grass fire off Lachlan Avenue along the railway corridor at 10:15am this morning.
It is believed workers in the area accidentally ignited the fire.
Prior to this incident they had to extinguish an abandon lounge that had been set on fire at about 1am.
The lounge had been dumped in a vacant block at the corner of Orchard and Buchan Avenue.
The fire risk in the Singleton Local Government Area is currently listed as High after yesterday’s Total Fire Ban.
On Wednesday NSW declared its earliest total fire bans on record in an ominous sign of what could become a disastrous season of bushfires unless substantial rain arrives, fire experts say.
According the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), fire crews battled at least 83 fires across the state after stronger-than-expected winds prompted authorities to take the unusual step of declaring fire bans in Sydney, the Illawarra and the Hunter regions part way through the day.
The bans beat the previous earliest such declarations anywhere in NSW by almost two weeks.
