While the new building was officially opened in March, the demolition of the old community health building to make way for the new car park took a little longer. But now the finishing touches have been applied and the entrance is ready to go.
“We need to train people to use the new entrance,” treasurer, Val Smith says.
A rare smoking ceremony, an attempt to reproduce a historical photo, tours of the new building and of course, the opportunity to grab a bargain from a variety of stalls in the new car park are just some of the activities planned from 9am to 1pm.
The Singleton Town Band and the Junior Band, the fabulous Bowing in the Wind Quartet, Noel Riley and Blu’s School of Dance will be performing.
United Hospital Auxiliaries (UHA) of NSW Inc. regional representative, Sue Ferguson, says this is a chance for the community to see the new facility and support the hospital in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
We really are a very fortunate community to have such a state-of-the-art, modern health facility right here in Singleton and this is a chance to come and have a look.

Sue says the idea of attempting the reproduction of the photo came from the historic image now on display.
“We thought we would try to replicate the photo from 105 years ago that was taken when the hospital first opened,” explains.
“The difference in 2018 is that we will be using a drone.”
The attempt will be made at 10am after the smoking ceremony at 9.30am.
There are still spots available for just $20 if you wish to be part of the car boot sale in support of the hospital; just call Sue on 0421155179 or Wayde on 6571 9202.
