There’s an action packed program of events again this year, with plenty of entertainment for all members of the family, no matter what your interest might be.
It all kicks off when Sideshow Alley opens on Friday at 10am with plenty of rides to keep the little kids amused for hours. Stroll through the pavilions to see horticulture, poultry, cooking, arts and photography.
There’s myriad of entertainment including reptile displays, the animal nursery, show-bags, face-painting, plus a visit from Rexie the 6 month old baby T-Rex, and Cera the 2 week old Triceratops, at 4m long and 2.5m tall, his realistic movements will have you wondering if dinosaurs really are extinct.
Friday night is a big one; get there early to snag a seat ringside for the Bullride from 6:30pm. Watch all the thrills and spills, and even two local riders go head to head with two local bulls.
Enjoy a meal from the bistro, a drink from the bar, and then stay to rock on with music from special guest, CMC Award Winners ‘Tailgate Drive’ playing straight after the last bull bucks.
Saturday sees Horse Events and Showjumping in the ring, as well as Working Dog Trials and Beef Cattle judging, ending the day with back-to-back entertainment in the Grandstand.
After the official opening at 2pm, by special guest the Governor General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Her Excellency Lady Cosgrove, the Singleton Showgirl winner will be announced.
This will be followed by the woodchop events, the Young Farmers Challenge, dog high jump, post-split events, and who could forget the Show favourite - the Australian Wife Carrying Titles!
Without a doubt the favourite this year will be the famous Rooftop Express and their ‘Heroes of the Outback’ Show.
This is a first class spectacular featuring awe-inspiring horsemanship, world first stunts and true blue Australian comedy.
Its lovable bush characters and amusing story line encourages crowd participation and family fun.
The Rooftop team saddle up with an all-star line-up of horses, dogs, cattle and their unmistakably blue IVECO trucks on Saturday evening, with a show that is sure to get hearts racing and whips cracking.
But don’t make plans to leave the Show before the excitement of the Demolition Derby and of course the traditional fireworks display.
Tickets are only $15 for adults, aged pensioner $10, child 13-16 years $10, 5-12 years $5, and under 5 years free. Family passes are $40.
