Currently ranked #4 in the national standings, the 2016 PBR National Champion will not only be contesting the open bull ride but is also taking part in an exhibition event.
That’s right, in an added twist Heffernan and another talented local,Trefor Sproule, are going head-to-head with two local bulls courtesy of Nichols Bucking Bulls.
Heffernan is up against Party Ardie while Sproule will ride Big Honky in the grand finale.
However, in the lead up a healthy 64 competitors will take part in four events.

But they only get once chance to impress in the open bullride, novice bullride, junior bullride and U8 steer ride which is always a crowd favourite.
And, organiser Luke Nichols says the entertainment continues after the last bull is bucked with live music from 2018 CMC award winners Tailgate Drive and both the bar and bistro is open till late.
