Workers at Boom Logistics Singleton depot went on strike on Monday,October 22 and to highlight their industrial campaign they have held protests first at Townhead Park on Thursday and then on Friday morning on the New England Highway near Pirtek Park.

Boom describes itself as a‘national industrial services group that provides superior crane logistics and lifting solutions to Australian Industry’ and the company employs 23 permanent staff in Singleton.
Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), construction division, state organiser Mark Cross said the workers had decided to take strike against because they had run out patience with the company over pay and work conditions. “We have been in negotiations with Boom at the Fair Work Commission for 10 months trying to get the company top agree to paying their workers industry comparable rate,” he said.
“But we have got nowhere with the company so we have been forced to take this action.”
