Headline act will once again be the Town Band which this year is celebrating 140 years of community service. The band performs at all our major local events including Australia Day and Anzac Day.
The concert which this year is conducted in partnership with Glencore’s Integra Underground will start at 6:30pm.
Singleton Town Band’s musical director Lance Vernon said there would be a wide range of music played and sung during the concert.
The Town Band’s three distinct bands – senior, intermediate and late starters will give individual performances along with their brass band in fact Mr Vernon said the origins of the band were based on a brass ensemble.
A combined primary schools band that included students from St Catherine’s Catholic College, King Street, Singleton Primary, Singleton Heights public schools will also be performing.
Vocalists will be Peter Knight and Kate Flannery.
Well known music teachers Mark and Jo Walton are coming as guests to the event and will also take part in the concert. Mark created the ‘late starters’ program where people who always wanted to play an instrument could receive tuition.
Peter Ostermann, Operations Manager, Glencore Integra Underground said “Glencore Integra Underground is proud to be supporting the Singleton Town Band’s 140th anniversary celebrations.”
“ We are proud to have recommenced operations at Integra and are focused on creating a safe and responsible future for the operation. We hope that the upcoming annual band concert is a great event for all involved.”
