Commencing this week, the new KinderGym program offers a weekly gymnastics class for children between 18 months old and 5 years.
The program will focus on all aspects of movement from jumping, balance and coordination.
Classes run for an hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30am for the 18 month to 3 year olds and at 10.30 for children aged between 3 and 5 years.
The classes will run for 48 weeks of the year, closing at Christmas, recommencing on January 16.
Registration is free until the end of the year with the first class just $10, allowing children and parents to try out a lesson before committing to a regular weekly class.
“Our KinderGym program is focused around fun, fitness, friendships and gymnastics fundamentals,
“For example children will learn strength, balance, coordination, spatial awareness and develop their gross motor skills”, said centre coordinator Nathan Lyon.
“It’s important in the development of children to stay active and to be able enjoy these activities in a fun and safe environment.” He added
The classes will be run by Desilee Howard, a GYMNSW accredited coach.
Desilee will take the boys and girls through various circuits and group activities on a range of Gymnastics equipment.
Family discounts are also available for parents with more than one child interested in enrolling for the classes.

Payments can be made up front or by direct debit on a fortnightly basis.
Children aged between 5 and 14 years will also have the opportunity to join in on the gymnastics fun, with a school aged program beginning on November 14.
These classes will progress on gymnastics and involve the use of apparatus and more specific movement in line with each child’s development and ability.
The school age program qualifies for the active kids rebate, giving parents $100 back per child from the government initiative. Visit Service NSW for more details on how to claim your rebate.
“Our community is crying out for this type of program and we are delighted to be able to deliver. It’s going to be of great benefit to the children enrolling.” Stated Nathan Lyons.
