A spokesperson for the WRHS service said the resident, who was believed to be in his 50s, was working on a Harley Davidson motorcycle in his garage, north west of town, from about 10am.
The bike, which was on a stand, had fallen onto the man’s body and pinned him by his head.
He was stabilised by paramedics, as well as the WRHS critical care team, who arrived on the scene to assist the man after he was found by his wife around 4.30pm.
He suffered a broken arm, and a head injury, as a result of the accident.
The man was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
