At the eleventh hour on that day fighting ceased and so ended the horrors of World War 1.
Four years of bloody combat between the Triple Alliance Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy and the Triple Entente - Great Britain, France and Russia, which resulted in the death and injury to so many of our young men was at long last over and the survivors could head home.
To mark this special ocassion the Singleton RSL Sub-Branch will be holding a Remembrance Day Memorial Service in Burdekin Park.
The service will commence at 10:30am and everyone is encouraged to join our returned servicemen and women at this event.
The memorial service will be led by Sub Branch president Glenn Mount and supported by soldiers from Singleton’s School of Infantry Lone Pine Barracks who will provide a catafalque party.
A bugler from the Town Band will be playing and bells will be rung at All Saints Anglican Church.
