The hard-hitting “master blaster” smashed an unbeaten 131 in the side’s huge total of 7-213 against PCH at Cook Park 3 on Saturday.
Thrift bludgeoned 10 sixes and 13 boundaries in his amazing knock.
He also shared a 95-run partnership in quick time with his father Greg, who chipped in with 27.
Ben Stokes added a handy 20 to the tally, too.
Jake Mackaway and Daniel Oldknow bowled brilliantly, snaring 2-24 and 2-30 respectively, despite the Thrift onslaught.
Faced with a run rate of 10.65 to win, PCH was behind the eight-ball early, losing the in-form Brad Cox (1), Pat Denniss (22) and Kurt Nealey (2) to be 3-28.
Captain Jackson Cox (24), Luke Knight (16), Josh McNamara (14 not out) and Andrew Winsor (13) tried valiantly.
But, the team’s campaign ended at 9-114 – 99 in arrears.
Steve Reeves collected 2-19 and Daniel Thrift picked up 2-20.
It was a bit more subdued at Howe Park, with Valley claiming the honours from Glendon by seven wickets.
The latter opted to bat first and managed to post a competitive 5-125.
Anthony Bailey anchored the innings with an undefeated 57, which consisted of five boundaries.
He received some assistance from Daniel Higgins (33) and Scott Daniel (10).
Tate Edwards captured 2-28, while Jacob Carey (1-18) and Dan Storey (1-14) snared a scalp each.
In reply, Valley made short work of the target, and prevailed within 17 overs.
Although Nathan Bagnall retired hurt, Carey (34), Storey (24) and Nathan Levy (38 not out – two sixes) guided the side to 3-126.
Jackson Lambkin toiled for 2-23 while Ton Stacy claimed 1-17.
Earlier in the day, Valley’s Jason Newberry launched an impressive 122 runs (not out) for Valley in their third grade victory over Glendon.
This weekend, December 15, will be the last round of cricket before Christmas.
The competition resumes on Saturday, January 12.
