While two second grade matches went ahead on Saturday, all fixtures in “firsts” and “thirds” fell by the wayside due to the conditions.

JPC put PCH to the sword at Albion Park in their T20 encounter, winning by 68 runs.

Despite losing Heath Moore (1) early, opener Ash Borg (47), Mitch Taylor (34) and Andy Thomas (33) enabled the side to reach 7-149.

Kye Dann and Andrew Knox also chipped in with an unbeaten nine and 15 respectively.

Will Holz collected 2-22 and Pat McNab snared 2-30.

In reply, PCH slipped to 7-49 and never recovered – although Jamie Tudor did his best to avoid that fate with 35, aided by Charlie Gibson’s 14.

But, JPC restricted them to a moderate 81.

Matt Heaver was the destroyer with the ball, capturing 3-9, while Brad Driscoll took 2-12.

It was a closer battle at Civic Park with Valley prevailing by two wickets from Creeks.

The latter struggled from the onset, with Lachlan Charnock (6), Cale Rainey (7), Ben Egan (1), Mitch Bourke (2) and Jarrod Campbell (2) back in the pavilion cheaply, leaving the team at 5-35.

Myles Cook (37), Clint Harman (35) and Dan Tracey (15 not out) then lifted Creeks to 7-116.

Glenn Russell produced a brilliant spell to snare 4-14.

Valley began solidly, thanks to Tristan Muir (10) and Mal Davis (15), however they slumped to 7-67.

Tully Winsor steadied the ship, with an undefeated 41, and with the help of Tony Whiting (11) and Sam Barry guided the side to victory.

Cook (2-18), Tracey (2-27) and Rainey (2-39) shared the spoils.

Cricket will resume on Saturday, January 12, with another round of T20.
