NSW Ambulance crews arrived on the scene where they treated two adults and three small children.
One woman, believed to be in her mid-20s, and two children were taken to Singleton Hospital suffering minor injuries as a result of the accident.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said all three patients were in a stable condition.
Eastbound traffic was diverted via the New England Highway to avoid the crash site.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Wednesday, the Golden Highway was closed for several hours at Jerrys Plains after emergency crews worked to salvage a semi-trailer, which appeared to have left the road near Lemington Road.
