Cooper’s latest release, The Woman in the Green Dress, is set in the Hawkesbury during 1853 and 1919, and in keeping with her earlier works, is a historical fiction novel about a woman whose inheritance leads to the discovery of a mysterious past surrounding Australia’s first opal.
Mark Wiblen, Council’s Manager Corporate and Community Services Group, said Library staff were very excited to host the decorated local talent.
“We are calling on all lovers of Australian romance and historical fiction to come along to the Library next Thursday and listen first-hand to Tea as she discusses her life, work and exciting new novel,” he said.
“Tea has an amazing story, from arriving in Australia in her twenties with not even a dollar to her name, to settling in Wollombi with stints as a teacher, journalist, farmer and now author — immersing herself in our history to write her best-selling novels.
“This will be a fantastic free event for all book-lovers, complete with local cheese and wine from Catherine Vale Wines in Broke — what’s not to love?”
Tea Cooper will talk about her bestselling books and life in writing at Singleton Library on Thursday 21 February from 5.30pm – 7pm. Bookings are essential, and you can register your interest via the event on the Singleton Library Facebook page.
Copies of Tea's book will be available for purchasing and signing.
