Along with playing times arrives even more acts to join the already bumper line-up. The festival welcomes from Central Australia the amazing desert reggae of Tjupi Band, Mid North Coast rock duo The Ruiins, and the stunning harp-inflected soundscapes of Newcastle’s Morgana Osaki.
The announcement also includes a festival first with a program of engaging activities in The Tractor Shed, an intimate new studio space that will host live Q & As with some of the festival’s headline acts, like Mojo Juju, Magic Dirt and Tamam Shud, stand-up comedy, the screening of the acclaimed Van Duren documentary with a Van Duren live interview, plus a talk with author Stuart Coupe about his book Roadies.
Capping off what is destined to be a wonderful festival, for those who decide to stick it out for the fourth day, will be the Sunday Wind Down featuring songwriter extraordinaire Ben Salter, along with a growing list of local acts such as Demi Mitchell, the man with the golden tonsils Dave Wells and the old-school classic country of Andy Abra & Big River.
There’s also a range of fun activities for the kids at Gum Ball 2019, continuing its history as a very family friendly festival, from the Circus Playground, to the reptile show, puppet-making workshops by The Squeaking Tribe and mask-making and theatre games with Curious Legends.
The stellar food line-up includes Bao Brothers, East Coast Paella Co., Rustic Pizza, Cyprus Kitchen, Funky Food Van and Natural Pancake Co., plus the The Swoop Inn café which will be the coffee destination throughout the event.
