First he sets a goal and then he achieves it.
It has been the case across his first 49 games at top level and the Singleton born sporting prodigy is already eyeing the century; such is his passion for the game.
"I would have been just as excited to play one game a few years back and then I set the goal straight after to play five games and I achieved that pretty quick in my first year," Holland told the Singleton Argus.
"At Belmore your name goes up on the wall with your number (mine is 770) and then your name goes up on the other side if you play 100 first grade games.
"So it would be pretty special for me to achieve that.
"I know I have to play good football and stay injury free and I'm 26 so I've only got five years to maximise that."
Until then the focus will be on his 50th match against the Storm at AAMI Park this Sunday.
It will be Holland's first appearance at the venue since he was called back for his second game in Round 6, 2016 (leading his side to a 12-8 win).
"It was a surreal feeling lining up against Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater in 2016 because it was sort of a pinch me moment," he added.
"Two of them have now gone but Cameron Smith is still there and he's one of the greatest to ever play the game and down there they are hard to beat.
"I won my first and second games so to get a win for my 50th would be unreal."
He added with excitement, "Ultimately, you're not really a NRL player until you play 50 games or so they keep telling me."
