Singleton PCYC, through their partnership with Singleton Mazda, are assisting Singleton's Youth achieve what many youngsters view as a rite of passage into adulthood......obtaining their driving licence.

"It's a very exciting program," David Andrews (Singleton PCYC club manager) said.

"The Driving Employment Pathways program is a collaboration between Singleton PCYC, Singleton Council, and the Salvation Army.

"The program aims to build a pathway for young people to develop the skills and knowledge required to achieve a drivers licence.

"Young people often experience a number of barriers to obtaining their licence - access to a car, the ability to accumulate 120 supervised learner hours in their log books, and the lack of suitable supervisor drivers - are just a few."

He continued, "Our friends at Singleton Mazda have shown great community spirit by making the car a reality, and we have volunteer mentor drivers ready to give their time to assist local we have removed many of these barriers."

"The program is free, and sits in very well with other PCYC Youth Driver Education programs like the popular Safer Driver Course for L platers who have already accumulated 50 hours in their log books."

Singleton PCYC offers a safe environment for young people to have fun, delivering activities and programs with qualified local instructors, all of whom have current Police Checks and Working with Children Checks.
