Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall said NH Foods received the award in recognition of their work in driving sustainability, product quality and innovation. "As a global supplier, NH foods showcases the best NSW produce to the rest of the world, with the multiple award-winning Manning Valley Naturally grassfed beef brand renowned for its flavour, juiciness and tenderness," Mr Marshall said.
"NH Foods works closely with its suppliers to ensure the integrity of their product for Manning Valley Naturally, including no use of hormones or antibiotics, and paying a 10-12% premium for producers to meet their strict specifications for breed, marbling and eating quality." Mr Marshall said NH Foods plays an important role as one of Australia's largest beef producers and the largest non-government employer in the Manning Valley on the mid-north coast. "Stock are bought directly from the producer and transported straight to the processing plant, which reduces handling and mileage, and helps ensure quality control from paddock to plate," Mr Marshall said. "NH Foods has also implemented an innovative approach to recycling wastewater from the Wingham facility, to reduce their environmental impact and improve the long-term sustainability of the operation."
