The first is the Dawn Service held in in Burdekin Park from 5:30am. Singleton RSL Sub Branch will be joined by the Singleton Town Band for a 'quiet' march from the Singleton Diggers Club to the cenotaph for the service and laying of wreaths.
This year the main march will take a new route following a decision by Singleton Council, NSW Police and the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) not to allow the closing of George Street (New England Highway) for the march.
Singleton RSL president Glenn Mount told the Argus last month "Last year the Singleton Council, the RMS and police informed us that we change the route or we don't do it at all"
"To a certain extent we can understand the safety aspect however you are still going to have crowds down here on the highway."
He continued, "We have no choice but to go with this route now and it is up to the towns' people to submit their feedback and we'll see what we can do in the future."
Many in the community were disappointed at the decision arguing the march route should remain the same and the highway closed in respect to the service men and women.
Given the change in the route those wishing to join the march will now gather at 10:15am in the vicinity of Service NSW carpark in Ryan Avenue.
From there the march will head along John Street before turning into Elizabeth Street and primary school and pre-school students will join in the march from the Singleton Public School playground . In previous years the younger generation traditionally gathered at Bailey Union Park prior.
The march will continue along Bourke Street before turning into Hunter Street and then entering Burdekin Park for the 11:00am service.
Other local Anzac Day services include two at Broke both at the War Memorial with a Dawn Service at 5:30am followed by one at 10:00am. Bulga's will commence with a short march on Inlet Road to the Memorial Gates with the service starting at 11:00am.
