The Bulldogs would put an end to their long Rose Point Park hoodoo by storming home to record a 15.9 (99) to 10.8 (68) victory. However there was one highlight appreciated by Singleton players past and present in the first half.
After leading his side out for his 100th club game Alex Mitchell would land his first goal for the season. Yet this was a major like no other across the AFL Hunter Central Coast senior competition thus far.
The miraculous Eddie Betts like snap on the Northern end of the oval drew applause from supporters of both clubs before he then celebrated with fellow 2016 premiership teammate and life long friend Daine Cowburn.
Scott, who was named as Singleton's best player with two goals, has cast Mitchell as a great asset since returning from a short stint with Newcastle City in 2015.
"Injury and bad luck saw him return after a year and he won the Granland medal on return," Scott told the Singleton Argus.
"He is moulding into a very good leader of the club and is very generous with sharing his football knowledge with the younger guys.
"He puts his body on the line and is one of the best stoppage players in the league."
The reserves side was also unable to hold off Warners Bay.
