The Awards, hosted by the Singleton Business Chamber and formerly known as the Singleton Outstanding Business Awards, also provide an avenue for strengthening the business community and creating value and opportunity.
The finals of the awards, this year being held at a gala evening at the newly refurbished Club Singleton, will be on Friday, May 31.
"We have so many amazing businesses in Singleton," Singleton Business Chamber secretary Darlene Flockheart said.
"We've changed a few things this year including the name and we're very excited."
Traditionally all categories are voted on by a judging panel, but this year organisers have added two "public vote" categories - Service with a Smile and Awesome Tradie - in a move that strives to get the whole community involved in some way.
"The response was amazing. So much so, we decided to add Favourite Business as another category," Darlene said.
"The Favourite Business category received over 1600 votes."
As well as the two public vote categories, and Favourite Business category, a Community Support Superstar category has been added.
"This category gives people an opportunity to nominate and recognise businesses that regularly support the community along with running their business," Darlene said.
The Awards help raise the prole of local business and give business an opportunity to gain recognition at a local level.
Some categories are also recognised at regional and state levels.
"Our Gala Evening gives businesses an opportunity to network with other businesses and celebrate the successes and wins of the amazing businesses we have in Singleton," Darlene said.
"Many of our business owners use the Gala Evening as an opportunity to thank their employees for their hard work.
"We are really looking forward to the evening being at Club Singleton this year, the first time they have hosted the Awards."
