Sidelined Singleton star Oliver Moody believes his men can match league powerhouse Cardiff this weekend if they can emulate the performance from their recent victory against Gosford.

"Cardiff are always a tough team with strength across the park," Moody told the Singleton Argus.

"There is good size in their forward line and a lot of run out of the middle so match ups for us will be important to get right straight away (to make sure we give ourselves a good chance).

RIVALS: The Singleton Roosters and Cardiff Hawks (local AFL sides), led by captains Alex Mitchell and Bryce Graetz, will meet this weekend for the first time since they played off in a competitive practice match in March.

Though the Hawks are in fine form, having commenced the 2019 season with a 7-1 record, the Roosters still remained competitive when playing off in a practice match in March.

Unfortunately, Moody would suffer a devastating knee injury that afternoon which has seen him sidelined since.

"Although our last couple of games against Cardiff have been quite big margins (loss) they aren't a team we are afraid of," he added.

"We know if we get things right and play our own style of tough accountable footy that we can give it a good crack.

"Being able to snag points against one of the league powerhouses at their home ground would give us some huge motivation and belief going forward."

All three Singleton sides will be travelling to Cardiff this Saturday.
