voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is celebrating the beauty of Mother Nature in all her glory with a special series of 'Long Lunches on the Lawn'. Created to give guests a gastronomical experience like no other, each lunch is being curated to celebrate the beauty of the everchanging landscape and seasonal produce of the Hunter Valley, with incredible sharestyle menus paired with the best of the best from local vineyards.
Guests will be wowed by the stunning setting, with beautifully set long tables spanning the lawn of voco Kirkton Park under the majestic gums and overlooking the natural waterways and gardens of the property.
Menus will be based on a banquet-style, shared platter philosophy and built around seasonal produce - sourced from both the voco Kirkton Park estate and kitchen garden; as well as from local producers - by the hotel's new chef, Prabhat Kumar Prawin.
General Manager Penny Crossley says the Long Lunch series was designed to give guests the ultimate experience in an incredible setting and to taste the fruits of the hotel's paddock-toplate philosophy.
'We have been working hard towards becoming a sustainable business, particularly so in the past 18 months,' Ms Crossley says.
'Our vegetable garden is a vital part of our paddock-to-plate philosophy, as are our onsite beehives which produce honey for us.
It's our aim to be producing 80% of our vegetables grown on site in the very near future. 'The Long Lunches will enable guests to experience that.' The series will kick off with 'Winter on the Lawn' on July 13.
Guests will be entertained with live music and enjoy warmth from cosy firepits while revelling in Winter's own unique charm and beauty as they sip a range of delicious Brokenwood wines and sumptuous platters laden with the very best local fare.
It's the perfect excuse for a winter getaway, and a great excuse to make a weekend of it, with exclusive voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley accommodation rates available for Long Lunch guests.
