These were the complimentary words from Hedweld's Marketing Manager Sandy Thomas just days after her MIGAS trainee Matt Schreiber was recognised at last month's Hunter Region's Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony.
Schreiber won the title of Trainee of the Year - Transport and Logistics, Warehouse Operations at the NSW Training Awards, Hunter Region.
The 21-year-old now admits that he could not wait to hear the winner when sitting amongst his fellow 28 nominees spread amongst the crowd of 500 that evening.
"I thought there was a decent chance I'd win it because I work hard in what I do," Schreiber told the Singleton Argus.
"It's a good award to have on a resume and it strives me to do more study and learn new things."
When asked about his future ambitions, the award winner revealed that he would like to the follow the steps of his current leader Terry Sinclair (Hedweld's Supply Chain Manager).
"Matt has become a knowledgeable resource for the other employees not only within the store team, but throughout the company," Mr Sinclair added.
"He is a pleasure to work with on a daily basis, consistently demonstrating a high level of application and maturity.
"Completing his training over 6 months early, Matt is a credit to his training program and will now continue as a valued employee within Hedweld Group of Companies."
