One of the state's oldest livestock and real estate companies, Dillon and sons had been selling cattle in conjunction with Bailey Livestock and Property for a number of years.
"But we saw an opportunity under the new management to sell independently," said Paddy Dillon.
"We are looking forward to growing our business especially with RLX's plans to make Singleton an outstanding selling centre that attracts buyers and vendors alike," he said.
Dillon and sons with Paddy and Kel Sullivan on the catwalk will not only be selling weekly at Singleton they will continue to run a monthly store sale in Dungog as well as regular store sales in Singleton with the other three agents.
The changing shape of local livestock farms means many are owned by city based investors who are know very little about agriculture and running cattle.
"We offer a complete range of services for our clients that includes managing the property and the stock," said Kel who has worked in the business for 15 years.
"We can muster stock, drench, mark and do all that sort on work and then market the livestock. "As farm ownership changes and the farms become smaller our business has to adapt."
The auctioneers are looking forward to future drought or no drought.
