This edition's guest speaker was NRL legend Andrew Johns, a figure known to all league tragics as the 'eighth immortal'.
The Cessnock born and raised Johns has been a household name since the start of his 249 NRL game career for the Newcastle Knights from 1993-07.
By the following year he would be named as the game's greatest talent in the league's centenary year.
While the now 45-year-old ignited the room with his colourful stories and anecdotes he would fittingly share the crown of special guest with former Wallaby and current Singleton first grade coach Steve Merrick.
"Those who were here in the 1990s, they heard a bit of Steve's story but this is the first chance where we get to hear the full story," the event's organiser Peter Dunn told the Singleton Argus prior to the luncheon.
The final result?
This proved to be a terrific call as rugby enthusiasts of all ages joyfully listened to Merrick's inspiring and sentimental journey from Singleton to the Australian national team in 1994.
Former world champion boxer and previous special guest (from April, 2018) Jeff Fenech was also on hand to assist with the fundraising auction.
