"I normally finish in the top eight in Newcastle but I've never won the event so that would mean a lot," Heffernan told the Singleton Argus.
Tomorrow's showcase will mark the first major event for Heffernan since he was thrown off 'Rock the House' at the Great Western Rocky PBR invitational.
Heffernan remained in a Queensland hospital for the following days.
Amazingly, he would not to damage a single bone.
"I wasn't even sure if I'd compete again this season so to perform well at the event will mean a great deal and boost my confidence for the remaining events."
The Newcastle and Hunter region will be strongly represented by Gresford brothers Lachlan and Cliff Richardson, who currently sit at No.5 and No.6 in the 2019 PBR Australia title race and Upper Horton hometown hero Troy Wilkinson (No.10), who took out the 2017 PBR Australia Championship.
